We're looking for a passionate emerging producer to champion young audiences and help shape the extraordinary creative experiences they deserve.​​

Associate Producer


Shape the future of theatre for young audiences

Arena, Australia's longest-running professional theatre company for young audiences, has created the Associate Producer role to work alongside and under the mentorship of the Creative Producer, supporting delivery of Arena’s programs and building capacity within the creative team. The role will grow progressively, with an initial focus on learning Arena’s practice and programs before taking on greater responsibility during the Creative Producer’s parental leave.

The Role:

  • Support the Creative Producer in day-to-day delivery of Arena programs

  • Assist in developing and delivering creative programs including but not limited to Makers and Country & belonging 

  • Assist with management of artist agreements and project documentation

  • Support relationship management with partners, venues and collaborators

  • Assume lead delivery responsibilities across active programs during the Creative Producer’s parental leave

 

About You:

  • Emerging or early-career professional in theatre, performing arts, or related creative field

  • Strong organisational and communication skills

  • Genuine commitment to theatre for young audiences and creative programs for children

  • Collaborative approach and ability to take direction while developing independent capability

  • Capacity to grow into greater responsibility over time

 

What We Offer:

  • 0.4 FTE (2 days per week) | $70,000-$75,000 FTE pro rata increasing to 0.6-0.8 FTE (4 days per week) | $5,000-$8,000 FTE will apply during the period of parental leave coverage

  • Hybrid work model (minimum 1 day/week in Bendigo)

  • Shape creative direction of a nationally significant organisation

  • Professional development budget and sector networking opportunities

  • Work at the cutting edge of creativity research and practice

 

Location:

Bendigo-based. Preference for candidates in or willing to relocate to Central Victoria. Limited travel/accommodation support may be available.
